Yvonne Lindbäck

RPT, PhD student, MSc, Specialist in Orthopedic, Dip. MDT.

Yvonne qualified as a physiotherapist in 1989 and has 24 years of experience treating outpatients in different primary care settings. She completed a Master of Science in Physiotherapy and became a certified specialist in physiotherapy in orthopedics in 2002.  In 2005 she completed a Diploma in Mechanical Diagnostics and Therapy (MDT) and became a MDT teacher in 2009.  She has combined her clinical work with teaching at Linköping University, where she is convener for an advanced level course “Low Back Pain − Examination and Clinical Management”.

Yvonne previously worked as a specialist physiotherapy consultant in the Östergötland health care region in Sweden. In this role she provided second opinion assessments to health care professionals, continuing education workshops for colleagues and facilitated the development of clinical process programmes for patients with LBP and neck pain. Since 2013 she is a part-time PhD student at Linköping University, working with research at the Spine Clinic, University Hospital. The current research aims are to evaluate pre-surgery physiotherapy and the utility of quantitative sensory testing (QST) in patients with degenerative lumbar spine disorder scheduled for spinal surgery.
